Live Grandma Roll Class
This recipe was delicious! The instructions were easy to follow and the video included so many tips and tricks. I made the rolls for Thanksgiving dinner and then we made scones with the scraps the next morning for breakfast.
I've always had a great fear of the kitchen. I was raised in a house where cooking was considered making biscuits from a can and bacon. I bake, but mostly stuff from a box and in smaller portions so I just need a mixing bowl and a whisk. I signed up for this class just knowing that I wanted to gain confidence in the kitchen… and quickly realized I had none of the tools needed. I don't have a stand mixer or a dough hook or anything like that. I'm sure that most people who take these classes are a bit more prepared and are used to being in a kitchen, and it was a great laugh as I thought to myself "I can just knead the dough and stuff with my hands, right?" Oh boy what a disaster. It never really became dough and my biggest mixing bowl didn't seem to have enough room for everything I was adding in. Despite the things that went wrong, it truly is a wonderful memory I'll hold on to about the first time I tried to get fancy in a kitchen, and I still watched the rest of the videos and took notes and learned a lot! I would just recommend that maybe in the future, there should be a bit of a preface in case a complete newbie to cooking like myself signs up for a class. The first thing going on my wedding registry list now though is a stand mixer! I thought that walking through the class, Lisa did a great job of taking time to explain things that even a newbie could understand. I really do think if I'd had the right tools that I would've been able to make delicious rolls simply because Lisa is such a great teacher! I'm definitely signing up for more classes in the future!
I loved the class and made delicious rolls for our Thanksgiving dinner. Thank you!
